Game Heroes: Player and Protagonist

Game Heroes: Player and Protagonist is a virtual exploration of the computer game medium. Using the Second Life virtual world, we explore the relationship between the video game protagonist and the game player. The viewer is taken on a journey of various game worlds, seeing it through the eyes of the protagonist, and the ensuing narrative of this online multiplayer role-playing game.

Scarborough

Scarborough is a typographic exploration of the history and culture of the community where I grew up – Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.

The Colour of Consumption

The Colour of Consumption

The Colour of Consumption is an information design that explores the consumption habits of an individual through the aspect of colour. The items consumed by a design student were recorded over a duration of one week, and organized based on the colour of the item, and the day and time it was consumed. These items are placed in accordance with a colour wheel, letting the viewer see correlations between the items and their responding colours.

Country in a Can

Country in a Can

Country in a Can is a visual narrative that explores the industries of the world through the metaphor of a pop can. This information design uses the pop can to represent different countries – the GDP and industry of these countries are listed and organized by wealth. The colour of the pop can reflects the two main industries of that country, such as blue for tourism, or black for petroleum. It is an interesting way to see the world through the colours that represent each nation’s economy.
