The Screwtape Letters (1941) is a satirical novel written by C. S. Lewis. It is composed of a series of letters from a senior devil to an inexperienced devil with advice on how to secure the condemnation of a newly converted Christian man, referred to as “the Patient.” Lewis highlights the importance of a deliberate decision to Christian living through the portrayal of a typical, flawed human life from a devil’s viewpoint.
The challenge for this project is to create a book trailer for The Screwtape Letters that captures its essence, tone, and mood without revealing too much of its narrative. The objective is to provide a creative interpretation and a brief sample of what the book is about as a way of enticing the audience into reading the novel, as well as to generate interest among a potentially new market.
