Sync

See all works by Earl Aspiras

Sync was a time-based project that experimented with the idea of space, control and reality, visually inspired by many other videos that dealt with the battle between creator and creation. The project utilized the illusion of space and movement in a virtual environment. The video is made to appear like a computer screen, with a series of video clips being played featuring a prominent subject. An unseen user synchronizes their actions to give the appearance that the subject exists inside this universe. Things get out of hand however as the subject gains sentience of sorts, and starts to break out of his virtual cell, and the user must deal with his boundless creation.
