Sashay, is a magazine targeted towards female readers who hold an intrigue for the unconventional travel with a touch of upper class. Too often people are so engrossed in going to the all inclusive destination travel spots and not being able to experience the essence and history of the local community. This magazine not only encourages one to be conscious of the distinctive aspects of a local venture, but also promotes education amongst other cultures. In learning about different cultures, one can become a sophisticated worldly traveler. Its target audience expands beyond those who are interested in traveling overseas, but also to those who wish to experience their own backyard in its full essence. Overall Sashay invites its audience to become a more conscious thinker, who is consciously aware and is responsive of their overall environment.

The name Sashay means, “to glide, move, or proceed easily or nonchalantly”. This is a name which appropriately embodies the overall essence of the magazine. Its title itself dictates the target audience: a traveler who moves his or her body in a neglectful way to wherever their hearts or minds want to take them to. Sashay portrays an overall feeling of romanticism and realism. The stark contrast between the two are present throughout the magazine and and gives the allure of mystery in the local.
