This project was based on self-interest, or rather a personal habit of mine. I thought I would turn my obsessive collecting habit into an editorial format. Although being a ‘packrat’ is propagating a large public interest because of the new T.V shows about hoarding, I decided to focus more on the low-key packrats – or the collectors rather than the hoarders. The oddness of a packrat informs the visual style, and the content of the magazine. The magazine contains obscure articles paired with eye-catching colours, playful layouts where images overlap each other, and bold typography with the headings typeset in Rockwell. I created this magazine so that it would entertain as well as inform its reader.
